Our Commitment

Southern Roots Home Design is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to our website.

We believe that a beautiful home should be accessible to all. That commitment extends to our digital presence — our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability or technology, can browse our collections, learn about our furniture, and connect with an authorized designer.

Conformance Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

WCAG defines accessibility requirements under four principles — content must be:

Perceivable — information and user interface components must be presentable in ways users can perceive.
Operable — user interface and navigation must be operable by all users, including keyboard-only users.
Understandable — information and operation of the interface must be understandable.
Robust — content must be interpreted by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Our current conformance status is partially conformant. We are working to address known gaps and achieve full conformance.

Accessibility Features

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements on our website — menus, links, forms, and buttons — are accessible via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible to assist keyboard users in tracking their position on the page.

Screen Reader Support

Images include descriptive alt text. Headings are structured hierarchically to aid navigation. ARIA landmarks and labels are used to provide context for assistive technologies.

Color & Contrast

We have designed our site with sufficient color contrast ratios to support users with low vision or color blindness. Text is not communicated through color alone.

Resizable Text

Our website supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. We use relative font sizes and fluid layouts to accommodate users who adjust their browser font size.

Forms & Labels

All form fields include associated labels and descriptive error messages so that screen reader users can complete forms without assistance.

Skip Navigation

A skip-to-main-content link is available at the top of each page to allow keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repetitive navigation menus.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to resolve them:

PDF documents — Some downloadable documents (such as product catalogs) may not be fully accessible. We are working to provide accessible alternatives.
Third-party content — Certain embedded content from third-party services (such as Instagram feeds) may not meet our accessibility standards. We encourage vendors to improve their own accessibility.
Legacy content — Older pages may not fully conform to current standards. We are in the process of auditing and updating these pages.
